January Local contractor Mohammed Abdulmohsin al-Kharafi & Sons has submitted a low bid of KD36.49m ($120.1m) for the contract to build roads and bridges for the Sabah al-Salem University�s Medical Campus in Kuwait. The firm�s offer is 9 per cent lower than the second-lowest offer of KD39.73m from Alghanim International. Seven firms submitted a bid for the contract. They are: - Mohammed Abdulmohsin al-Kharafi & Sons: KD36.49m - Alghanim International: KD39.73m - Kuwait Building & Contracting: KD41.75m - Combined Group Contracting: KD42.79m - Arab Kuwait Contractors: KD46.5m - United Gulf Construction: KD48.8m - Ahmadiah Contracting & Trading: KD53.75m - 31th
MayMohammed Abdulmohsin al-Kharafi & Sons has been awarded the main contract on this scheme.
BP-5C is the final Infrastructure works package that includes the following works:
• University Ring Road (URR) continuation from Main Campus to Medical Campus
• Road works including retaining walls, underpass, elevated roundabout, junctions, bridges and other connections such that the SSUC campus is connected to main arterial roads.
• Streetscape including street lights and street landscape along the URR and other street infrastructure.
• Road and surface drainage, pedestrian walk ways, other road safety works.
• Attenuation Tank and Irrigation Tank as part of infra works.
• C3 and C4 Public Shelters in Medical Campus area.
• Campus Wide Signage and Way finding.
• Utility Tunnel Link from Main Campus to Medical Campus under University Avenue road.
• Landscape works for allocated parcels.
• Fire Station Building.
• Electrical Sub stations
Location: The BP 5C Package works are located to the West side of University Avenue, essentially continuing the works from BP 5A & B.
